[ Find Your Home Away From Home ]

Problem -

Finding rental home that feels like 'home' is frustating and overwhelming experience, due to inadequate online platforms, limited access to relevant information and a time-consuming search process.

Goal -

To develop an intuitive and user-friendly rental home search platform. This platform aims to provide accurate and up-to-date property information, offer personalized search results and reccomendations, and ensure a seamless and efficient search experience.

End-Users -

• Renters(individuals and families) seeking rental properties.
• Property managers and landlords listing rental properties.

Solution -

Here's HomeAlike- an online rental marketplace connecting homeowners and renters, simplifying the rental process.

Features -

• Property listing and searching
• Direct connections between renters and owners
• Reviews and ratings for properties and owners
• Verified listings for authenticity
• Secure messaging for communication

Process -

• It all started with recognizing problem (when my colleagues living away home, started complaining about unavailablity of adequate space to settle at)
• I looked for solution on internet, but couldn't find the right one.
•That's when came this idea to me.
•And the rest process was messy, creating wireframes, prototyping ideas, user-journey and a lot.

Reflection -

"As the creator of HomeAlike, I recognize that shelter is a fundamental human necessity, second only to food. Every individual deserves a safe, secure, and comfortable place to call home. Driven by this understanding, I am committed to developing a platform that streamlines the rental search process, making it more accessible, efficient, and equitable for all."

LinkedIn Redesign

[ Change that creates positive impact ]

1. Pop-up card to cancel button

Problem -

Cancel button on reccomended posts expands, unneccessarily occupying screen space and obstructing content.

Solution -

Introducing a pop-up card for reccomended posts, featuring a cancel icon and 'tap-to-dismiss' functionality, efficiently freeing the screen space.

Impact -

This pop-up card significantly reduces screen clutter and improve user-focus, resulting in a more streamlined and efficient experience.

2. Introducing 'save' button

Problem -

Despite being a frequent action, saving a post takes an unneccessary detour, unlike sending and reposting(which are more strightforward).

Solution -

Introducing a 'save' button below each post, mirroring the 'send' and 'repost' button, to simplify saving on LinkedIn.

Impact -

Adding a 'save' button reduces the average time to save a post and increase user engagement through saved content.

3. CTA button-'manage my network'

Problem -

'Manage My Network' option is plaughed by homogenization, inducing visual delusion that hampers user navigation.

Solution -

Incorporating brand color into the CTA button, effectively employing visual emphasis to guide user interaction.

Impact -

It improves navigation experience and effectively draws attention to key navigation features.

4. 'See less' feature on post

Problem -

'See More' button lacking a corresponding 'See Less' option, causing unneccessary scrolling and frustation.

Solution -

Introducing a reversible 'See Less' feature to LinkedIn post, complementing the existing 'See More' button, allowing effortless toggling between detailed and condensed views.

Impact -

It reduces the scrolling fatigue, increasing user engagement on LinkedIn.
